How to Get to Kalim Beach

Getting to Kalim Beach is quite easy. From Phuket International Airport (HKT), you can reach it within approximately 45 minutes by taxi or private transfer service. You can also utilize Songthaew (red truck) minibuses that operate regularly from various points in Phuket City. From Patong, a short taxi or motorbike taxi ride will get you there. If you're arriving with your own vehicle, there are many parking areas near the beach.

Best Time to Visit Kalim Beach

The dry season, from November to April, when Phuket experiences the best weather conditions, is the most suitable time to visit Kalim Beach. During this period, sunny days and low rainfall provide perfect conditions for beach activities and sunbathing. However, this is also the peak tourist season, so expect higher prices and more crowded beaches. The monsoon season, from May to October, is characterized by rainy and humid weather. There's a road very close to the shore, and the noise from it doesn't create a peaceful atmosphere. Traffic is heavy. It's hard to call this a rest area; it's more of a break from the planned route, alongside the waves. The beach itself is practically deserted (in stark contrast to the famous tourist destination of Patong to the north), with no sun loungers or umbrellas, and it's not suitable for swimming. It's a medium-sized beach, 900 meters long. In the evenings, many locals sell food and snacks, so it can get particularly crowded, and parking can be a challenge. The vegetation isn't lush; all the greenery is on the beach side of the road. The sea water is clear (the bottom is rocky), and the entrance is shallow. The sand is hard and yellow-gray.
