There's a sandy beach. Sometimes there are a lot of jellyfish, but that's normal for this region, and it's a good place to swim. There are cafes nearby. It's nice on less crowded days.

The Blue Flag story is a colossal lie. Neither Kumyalı nor the Karamürsel public beach deserve this. It's an example of the hollowing out of values. How can these beaches even receive a Blue Flag when there are so many refineries and factories in Izmit Bay, and so many shipyards at the bottom of Karamürsel? Every single day of summer, there are bloody fights with knives, sticks, and profanities. The endless hostility between groups of men who fill the pier. Men swimming in their underwear, harassing women and girls. Men throwing their garbage everywhere, drinking and going on rampages despite being banned. Cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and peace are all zero. Anyone who was offended by my previous comment has been deleted. But anyone who wishes can check the news. All of these fights are already appearing on social media and in local newspapers. I will continue to write.

As of May 25, 2025, the sea was dirty. The atmosphere was mediocre, and it was very crowded. I came with my family, but I can't say I was very comfortable. The sand is nice, but the sea was bad, so we didn't go in. It's not a place I would recommend.

Watching the sun set while sipping your tea on the sand in the evening takes you to a wonderful atmosphere.

The sea is shallow, some places are mossy, and there are plenty of jellyfish. There are free showers and toilets. Parking is free, but you can find a parking space if you arrive early. The owners are nice people, there is no problem with eating and drinking. There is a market right next to it. There is no problem with transportation.
