The beach offers stunning views, but be aware that half of it is reserved for sun loungers, so finding a free public spot can be difficult during peak hours. There are public showers available, which are handy, but the water isn't very clean due to the cruise ships and boats nearby. It's still a nice spot for a quick swim or to enjoy the coastal views – just arrive early or later in the day if you want to find a spot in the public area. It's only a 10-minute walk from the Old Town, making it easy to get to. Be sure to bring water shoes, as the beach is very rocky and can be uncomfortable to walk barefoot.

We had some free days in Kotor, so we decided to go to Kotor Beach one day. The beach is divided into two sections: the right side is free, and the left side is private, with a 20 euro umbrella. The beach is narrow, and the water is dirty (after visiting beaches in Tivat and Budva). The beach attendant smokes, as do other people, creating a terrible smoggy atmosphere. The beach is narrow, and the road next to it is close and quite busy, so cars honk constantly. We stayed for two hours and then left. There are good showers and changing rooms.

Between the road and the sea is a narrow, rocky strip of beach and a concrete walkway. Because it's high season, finding a place to spread out your towel is a matter of luck. At least a third of the beach is privately owned, with sun loungers and umbrellas available for rent for 40 euros per day. It gets even more crowded when a cruise ship docks. The sea is beautiful, clear, and sparkling in the sunshine. There are various beach bars, cafes, restaurants, and bakeries, all at reasonable prices.

I'm obsessed with this beach and the view. This must be what paradise is like. The water was also great for snorkeling (I saw some fish), but visibility isn't great once you get farther from shore. Sun loungers are free at sunset. And the area is quite safe until late at night.
