I cycled the entire 36km fully loaded. I started from Sanlucar and went all the way to Matalscanas. If you only want to cycle by bike, be careful of the tides; you can easily do it in a few hours with breaks. If you're fully loaded, you need to plan very well. I couldn't do it when the tide was still low, so I had to wade through the sand for the last 10km, but the tide returned within a few hours, so I was able to cycle again. So don't panic if the tide rises, just wait and take a break; the tide will probably return again. I met absolutely no one the whole trip; a few tourist buses passed me very quickly, probably unable to stop and slowing down on the sand. So if you have the opportunity, do it... and take plenty of water with you :) If you want to see more photos, check out my Instagram account @omarakahare

This beach, and all the others along the coast of Doñana National Park, are a marvel of scenery, solitude, and tranquility. You could walk for miles and never encounter a soul, at most a few local fishermen.

This beach is located in the heart of Doñana National Park, next to the three-kilometer-long Guadalquivir estuary. To reach it, you need to cross the Guadalquivir River by barge from the pier in front of the Sanlúcar de Barrameda ice factory (Embarcadero Paso a Doñana) for €8 per person. It's the perfect place to walk in solitude and enjoy the sea breeze. *NOTE: It's important to note that you can only walk along the beach, as the adjacent Coto de Doñana is inaccessible unless you're on an organized tour.
